IFFAMPAC Speaks at International Women’s Day Seminar in Africa

On March 6, 2009 IFFAMPAC was privileged to be asked by the Great Lakes Women Refugee Association in Zambia to speak at the International Women’s Day special seminar entitled: Focus on Women’s Refugees- challenges and opportunities. The seminar took place at Alliance Francise, in Lusaka-Zambia, Africa.
IFFAMPAC was represented by Mr. Evans Lombe, our Africa Representative. Invited speakers included the president of the Great Lakes Women Refugees in Zambia, Mrs. Nkunda Esperance. The guest of honour was Mrs. Francoise Le Bihanthe, the French Ambassador to Zambia and Malawi.
Mr. Lombe stated that IFFAMPAC continues to play a major role in organizing and strengthening Africa family associations which create support networks of families of missing persons from armed conflicts. Mr. Lombe further stressed the need for women refugees to be integrated in a streamlined process for education, social and economic reintegration back into society. Women must resume their valuable contributions to both national and international development. Please see our Events Release on this topic for additional information.
